Volunteer Basketball Coach & Coordinator – Special Olympics Barwon (Geelong)

Special Olympics Barwon is seeking a Basketball Coach and Program Coordinator to support our local athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism.

If you have basketball coaching or playing experience — or want to develop these skills — we’d love to hear from you. Experience engaging with athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism is advantageous but not essential. What matters most is a willingness to learn, support others, and create an inclusive environment. Full training and accreditation are provided.

What You’ll Do

• Run weekly basketball training in Geelong
• Support athletes across a wide range of skill levels
• Assist with program coordination and communication
• Help build a safe, positive, inclusive sporting environment

What We’re Looking For

• Basketball coaching or playing experience (or enthusiasm to learn)
• Interest in inclusive sport and athlete engagement
• Reliable, positive, community‑minded
• Willing to complete training and accreditation
• Based in the Geelong region
