Our aged care home in Wagga Wagga is look for people who love to have a chat and would enjoy providing companionship to our elderly residents.
Social companions provide friendship, social connection, and emotional support to residents who may be feeling lonely, isolated, or would benefit from regular one-on-one interaction.
Being a social companion can include:
- Having conversations and getting to know residents
- Sharing a cup of tea or coffee
- Playing games such as cards, board games, or puzzles
- Reading aloud from books, newspapers, or magazines
- Going for walks around the residence gardens or common areas
- Supporting hobbies and interests such as knitting, music, art, or reminiscence activities
- Accompanying residents to group activities and encouraging participation
- Celebrating special occasions like birthdays and cultural events
- Simply being a regular, friendly visitor and a listening ear
You will be:
