Ciao! Ti va un caffè e una chiacchierata?
Italian Speaking Volunteer Visitor – Dandenong North
Could you brighten someone's week simply by sharing a conversation in Italian?
We're looking for a friendly Italian-speaking volunteer to visit a lovely older lady living in the Dandenong North area. She migrated to Australia in the 1960s and has a lifetime of wonderful stories to share about growing up in Italy and building a new life here in Australia.
Although she is fortunate to have a large, loving family and many grandchildren who visit regularly, nothing replaces the joy of a genuine friendship and having someone to sit down with for a cuppa and a relaxed chat.
She enjoys:
- ☕ Sharing a coffee and conversation
- 🛍️ Shopping outings when possible
- 📺 Watching Italian dramas and game shows
- 🇮🇹 Talking about her childhood in Italy
- ✈️ Reflecting on her migration journey to Australia
We're hoping to find a compassionate volunteer who speaks Italian and would enjoy building a meaningful friendship through regular visits. Visits are at least once a fortnight, with weekly visits preferred, and typically last around an hour.
No special qualifications are needed—just kindness, reliability, and a genuine interest in getting to know someone with a lifetime of experiences to share.
As an Ageing with Grace Volunteer Visitor, you'll receive training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of an older person experiencing social isolation.
Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give is simply our time.
Location: Dandenong North
Commitment: Minimum fortnightly visits (weekly preferred)
Language: Italian speaking essential
If you'd love to make a real difference—one coffee and one conversation at a time—we'd love to hear from you.
