About the opportunity

Primary Purpose of the Position

Join a taskforce of Skilled Business Professionals supporting the delivery of Community Emergency Management Planning (CEMP) workshops with at-risk communities across East Gippsland. As part of ABV’s Resilient Regions program, volunteers will help communities strengthen disaster preparedness, economic resilience and social cohesion by contributing to practical, community owned emergency management plans. Working alongside community partners and facilitators, volunteers will support a delivery model that combines scenario-based learning, facilitated workshops, and structured drafting and refinement to ensure plans reflect local conditions, lived experience and community priorities.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

• Strong facilitation and communication skills

• Experience working with groups or communities

• Ability to capture and structure information clearly

• Comfortable working in community settings

• Ability to work within defined role boundaries

Desirable:

• Background in planning, community development or related fields

• Experience in working with regional or remote communities

• Experience in working with communities affected by disasters or planning for disasters

• Experience working with First Nations communities.

Role information:

  • Start ASAP
  • Approximately 3 months, flexible
  • Online/Remote + In person for workshop
  • Victoria

  • 5 years professional experience in the relevant field
  • Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Australia.
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check
  • Willingness to complete a Working with Children Check
