Come and Drive Change in Someone’s Life as a Community Transport Driver

Western Health’s volunteer transport drivers play an essential role in driving older people who have no other means of transport to medical appointments and social outings. Not only will you assist these individuals to remain connected with their community, but it’s also a wonderful opportunity to share stories, and get to know people as you drive them to where they need to go.

Locations: Bacchus Marsh and surrounds.

We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, backgrounds, languages, cultures, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are looking for students, CALD community members, immigrants, and refugees, as well as teenagers, undergraduates, and people of all abilities. Even if you're over 60 and looking to fulfil Centrelink mutual obligations, we've got a spot for you.

• Integrity and open-mindedness are your guiding principles. You value confidentiality and treat everyone who comes to Western Health with dignity and respect.
• If you speak multiple languages, such as Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Dinka, Arabic, Greek or any other language, we want you on our team! However, basic English language, reading and writing skills are essential.

We ask that:

• You’re an Australian Citizen or have permission to volunteer in Australia.
• You have your full driver’s licence
• Aged 25 years plus
• Good driving record

A vehicle will also be supplied for your use when you are on shift.

Additionally, we ask our volunteers to commit to 12+ months. Shifts are available Monday-Friday, on an ad-hoc basis and hold a full driver's license. Let’s find the schedule that suits you best.
