Board Directors (Volunteer) – Three Positions Available (Including Treasurer)

Help ensure no older person feels alone.

Ageing with Grace is a growing national charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and social isolation among older people. Through the Australian Government-funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) and other community programs, we create meaningful connections that help older people feel valued, supported and connected.

As we enter an exciting new phase of growth, we are seeking three exceptional volunteer Board Directors, including one Treasurer, to help guide the organisation's strategic direction and continue building our impact across Australia.

About the Role

As a member of the Board, you will provide strategic leadership, governance and oversight, working collaboratively with fellow Directors and the CEO to ensure Ageing with Grace continues to grow sustainably while remaining true to its mission and values.

Board meetings are held quarterly via Microsoft Teams, with occasional additional meetings.

Treasurer

One vacancy is for the position of Treasurer. We welcome applications from suitably qualified finance professionals with experience in accounting, audit or financial management, particularly within the not-for-profit sector.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Finance, accounting or audit
  • Not-for-profit governance
  • Community services, aged care or health
  • Risk management and compliance
  • Human resources and organisational development
  • Marketing, communications and brand strategy
  • Fundraising, philanthropy and grant development
  • Government relations and advocacy
  • Legal
  • Information technology or cyber security

Previous Board experience is welcomed but not essential. We value people who bring sound judgement, integrity, strategic thinking and a genuine commitment to making a difference.

You will be someone who:

  • Is passionate about improving the lives of older people.
  • Thinks strategically and contributes constructively to Board discussions.
  • Understands, or is willing to learn, the principles of good governance.
  • Works collaboratively while respectfully challenging ideas when appropriate.
  • Acts with integrity and in the best interests of the organisation.
  • Can commit the time required to fulfil the responsibilities of a Director.

This is a voluntary position. Reasonable Board-related expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with organisational policy.
