Help ensure no older person feels alone.

Ageing with Grace is a growing national charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and social isolation among older people. Through the Australian Government-funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme and other community programs, we create meaningful connections across Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Board Treasurer with a strong understanding of not-for-profit financial management and governance.

• Your financial management or governance experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
• Your experience with government grants, restricted funding, budgets, financial reporting and funding acquittals.

About the Role

As Treasurer and a Board Director, you will work with fellow Directors, the CEO and our external accountant to provide financial leadership and oversight.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing budgets, financial reports, cash flow and financial performance.
• Helping the Board understand financial risks and responsibilities.
• Overseeing financial controls and annual financial reporting.
• Supporting compliance with ACNC and other relevant obligations.
• Contributing to the Board’s broader strategy, governance and risk management.

This is a governance role and does not involve day-to-day bookkeeping.

About You

You will bring:

• Demonstrated financial experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation.
• A sound understanding of not-for-profit accounting, grants and financial governance.
• The ability to explain financial information clearly to people without a finance background.
• Integrity, sound judgement and a collaborative approach.
• A relevant finance or accounting qualification, with CPA or CA membership highly regarded.
• A genuine commitment to improving the lives of older people.

Previous Board experience is welcomed but not essential.

Board meetings are held quarterly via Microsoft Teams, with monthly meetings with CEO and Chair to keep track of finances (30 minute meetings). This is a voluntary position, with reasonable Board-related expenses reimbursed in accordance with organisational policy.
