The Flannel Project Ltd
Help shape the future of postvention support in Australia.
The Flannel Project is entering an exciting new chapter, and we're looking for a compassionate, values-driven person to join our volunteer Board of Directors as our Company Secretary.
We exist to support veterans, first responders, and those who love them after suicide.
Our belief is simple:
Postvention is Prevention.
Through connection, lived experience, remembrance, education, and equine-assisted wellbeing programs, we're building a community where people can find hope, healing and purpose after suicide loss.
About the role
As a Director and Company Secretary, you'll work alongside our Chair and Treasurer to help guide the governance and future direction of The Flannel Project.
Your role will include:
- Preparing Board meeting agendas and taking minutes.
- Maintaining governance records and organisational documentation.
- Assisting with ACNC and ASIC compliance.
- Supporting effective communication between Board members.
- Contributing to strategic planning and organisational growth.
- Helping ensure the charity continues to operate with transparency, integrity and good governance.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking someone who already has experience in governance, board administration, company secretarial duties, or a similar leadership or governance role.
Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who:
- Leads with kindness and humility.
- Values integrity and accountability.
- Enjoys working collaboratively.
- Wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of others.
Veterans, current or former first responders, family members, and people with lived experience of suicide loss are warmly encouraged to apply. While lived experience is valued, what matters most is a genuine commitment to our mission and a heart for serving others.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to help shape a growing Australian charity at an exciting stage of its journey.
Your contribution won't simply support good governanceāit will help build programs that provide hope, connection and healing for veterans, first responders, and the people who love them after suicide.
Every decision you help make has the potential to create a lasting impact.
How to apply
Please submit:
- Your resume or professional profile.
- A short cover letter introducing yourself, outlining your governance or leadership experience, and telling us why you'd like to join The Flannel Project.
We'd love to hear from people who believe, as we do, that compassion and good governance go hand in hand.
Together, we can ensure no veteran, no first responder, and no family has to face the aftermath of suicide alone.
