Help Create Connections with Older People

At Ageing with Grace, we’re all about helping people feel connected, included and valued. Our Friendship Circles are relaxed social gatherings where older people can come together, have a chat, share stories and enjoy spending time with others.

We’re looking for friendly people who enjoy meeting others and would like to help create a welcoming space for older people in the community.

What you’ll do
You’ll help make Friendship Circles a warm and friendly place by:

  • Welcoming people and helping everyone feel comfortable.
  • Having conversations, sharing stories and getting to know participants.
  • Encouraging people to join in activities and chats.
  • Helping with simple things like setting up, packing down or making a cuppa.

Who we’re looking for
You don’t need any special experience — just a kind attitude and a willingness to connect with others. If you enjoy a good chat, listening to people’s stories and making others feel welcome, you’ll fit right in.

Why join us?
Volunteering with Friendship Circles is a great way to:

  • Meet new people and be part of your community.
  • Help older people feel less alone and more connected.
  • Share your time, kindness and life experiences.
  • Be part of something meaningful while having fun along the way.

The difference you can make
A friendly face, a good conversation or simply spending time with someone can mean a lot. By being part of Friendship Circles, you’ll help create moments of connection, friendship and belonging for older people.

Getting started
We’ll provide training and ongoing support to help you feel comfortable. Before getting started, volunteers will complete any required checks and have a chat with our team about how they’d like to be involved.

We’d love to have you join us!
