Transport to Treatment Driver Milroy Lodge

Cancer Council WA operates a Transport to Treatment program, assisting people affected by cancer, access essential treatment and medical appointments by providing safe, reliable transport.

The program operates from key locations across the Perth metropolitan and regional areas, including Nedlands, Shenton Park, Mandurah, and Bunbury.

About the Lodges Our two self-catering accommodation lodges in Perth, Milroy Lodge in Shenton Park, and Crawford Lodge, in Nedlands, offer a home-away-from-home for regional cancer patients and their carers while they access treatments and cancer related appointments in the metro area. The Lodges offer comfortable, clean and safe motel-style accommodation with on-site support services.

Milroy Lodge is urgently seeking volunteer drivers.

Volunteer drivers are essential to the delivery of this service, providing safe, respectful and supportive transport for people undergoing cancer treatment.

The Role As a Volunteer Driver, you will:

• Safely transport clients to and from medical appointments using a Cancer Council WA vehicle.
• Use a sensitive and compassionate approach, recognising the impact of a cancer diagnosis.
• Report any vehicle maintenance or repair requirements to your supervisor.
• Maintain regular communication with, and provide feedback to, your supervisor.
• Attend volunteer induction and role-related training.
• Participate in annual reflection activities and team meetings.

Requirements

• Be over 25 years of age.
• More than five (5) years’ driving experience.
• Current unrestricted C Class driver’s licence with an excellent driving record.
• Maintaining appropriate professional and personal boundaries.
• Reliability and a strong commitment to safety and confidentiality.
• Understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA.
• Respect for diversity.
• Positive attitude to the workplace.
