Volunteer Role: Experienced Board Secretary
This role would be most suited for someone located Brisbane, Redlands, Bayside, Gold Coast or nearby regions, but could also be remote.
We are
seeking an individual who is already experienced in board governance and
administration and who shares our values, ethics and commitment to supporting
those affected by missing persons.
This is an
opportunity to become an important part of our leadership team, helping
strengthen the governance and future of our charity while making a meaningful
difference to families across Australia.
The
successful applicant will be a proactive, organised and reliable team player
who enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive Board environment.
Key
Responsibilities
As Board
Secretary you will:
●Prepare and
distribute Board meeting agendas and supporting documentation.
●Record
accurate minutes during Board meetings.
●Maintain
Board records, governance documents and official registers.
●Ensure
compliance with constitutional, legislative and regulatory obligations.
●Assist with
Board correspondence and official communications.
●Coordinate
Board meeting schedules and annual governance requirements.
●Support the
Chairperson and Board Members with administrative governance functions.
●Maintain
confidentiality and act with professionalism at all times.
●Promote good
governance, accountability and ethical decision-making.
●Contribute
positively to Board discussions and strategic planning.

Shine The Light Missing Persons Australia Inc. Is seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated Volunteer Board Secretary to join our Board of Directors.
We are a small, registered not-for-profit Missing Persons charity based in Brisbane, Queensland, providing practical support services, advocacy, psychological esources and compassionate assistance to families and individuals impacted by the disappearance of a loved one.
Our organisation supports communities on a national level across all Australian States, Territories and Islands, working to support families and those with a missing loved one, so they don't need to face the journey of having a missing loved one alone.
