The role includes:
*Performing day-to-day gardening tasks on a weekly basis at Grossmann & Brough Houses.
*Working as a part of a small group keeping a heritage garden in order.
*Performing grounds work like pruning gardens, weeding, laying mulch, maintaining edging and paved areas, sweeping and raking leaves, and creating new plantings.
Training:

Induction and familiarisation visit with the property and staff

Guidance on the conservation policies for the property and what this means for gardening works

Training in Safe Work procedures for works at the property

Guidance on the conservation plan for Grossmann & Brough Houses and an understanding of what this means for gardening works.
Ongoing support from staff and fellow volunteers will be provided.

By contributing your time volunteers are able to develop well maintained gardens that attract more visitors and enhance visitor enjoyment encouraging repeat visit and positive word of mouth.

Your work helps manage the plants and trees of the garden, control invasive plants and support sustainable gardening practices that benefit the environment

Beautifully maintained gardens that you help develop can be used for fundraising events, weddings and photography generating much needed revenue for the National Trust that can be used for preservation and conservation projects.
