On your first day you’ll …
- Show compassion and respect for animals and people
- Have an open, approachable manner and will treat others fairly
- Show initiative and an appetite for learning new skills
- Follow processes and procedures
- Be ok doing physical work such as lifting and bending
- Be committed and reliable with excellent punctuality
- Be over 18 years of age
More about the role Your volunteer role will provide the hospital with laundered animal bedding and surgical scrubs. The purpose of a laundry volunteer is to help provide a safe environment and sustainable service to the hospital.
On a typical day you’ll:
- Check in with your supervisor when you clock in
- Collect, sort and launder animal bedding and surgical drapes
- Fold and distribute laundered bedding
- Operate washers and dryers throughout the afternoon / evening
- Collect, sort and distribute donations from donation bin
