Coffee, Footy and Friendship – Volunteer Visitor Needed in Rowville

Could you spare one hour a week/fortnight to share a coffee, a good conversation and some companionship with an older gentleman living in residential aged care?
MiCare is seeking a friendly and reliable volunteer who enjoys connecting with older people and listening to their stories. This gentleman has lived a rich and interesting life and has many experiences, memories and stories to share.
He is a passionate Richmond Tigers supporter and enjoys watching and talking about AFL. He also loves dogs, cars, lifesaving and sharing stories about life. He particularly enjoys connecting with people and would welcome a volunteer who is curious, open-minded and enjoys meaningful conversation.
As his Volunteer Visitor, you might share a coffee, chat about football, exchange stories or simply spend time enjoying each other’s company. No personal care or medical support is required—the role is centred on friendship, conversation and genuine human connection.
A regular visit could give him something positive to look forward to, while offering you the chance to build a meaningful intergenerational friendship and gain valuable insights from someone with a lifetime of stories to share.
