Make a Real Difference with a Simple Walk – Walking companion, North Turramurra

Do you have an hour to spare each week and enjoy being outdoors? 🚶‍♀️🌤️🌿

👟 We are looking for a caring and reliable volunteer to accompany one of our residents on walks in her wheelchair around the local area.🌞🚶

For this resident, spending time outside is one of life's greatest pleasures. Being outside in the fresh air and sunshine brings her enormous joy and make a significant difference to her wellbeing.

Following a stroke, her communication has become more limited, but she still enjoys company and connection. A friendly smile, shared observations, and simply being present can help build a meaningful relationship.

No experience is necessary. Full training, support, and orientation will be provided.

What you'll do:

• Take a resident for regular wheelchair walks in the local community
• Provide companionship and social connection
• Help bring enjoyment, stimulation, and a sense of freedom to her day
• Make a genuine difference

What we're looking for:

• A friendly and compassionate person
• Someone comfortable engaging with older people
• Reliability and a positive attitude

🌤️This is a simple role that will have a big impact. Your time and companionship could become the highlight of someone's week.
