Do you speak Hungarian? Volunteer needed to Brighten an Older Person's Day

We are looking for a kind and friendly Hungarian-speaking volunteer to visit a lovely older lady in Dean Park.
She is warm, funny and caring, with a great sense of humour and a lifetime of stories to share. She enjoys cooking and baking, picking flowers, feeding the birds, listening to Elvis, dancing, going for walks and sitting down for a good chat.
She would really love having someone new in her life who she can get to know and look forward to seeing. Whether it’s sharing a cup of tea, talking about life, reminiscing about Hungary, listening to music or simply having a laugh together, it’s the regular companionship that will make the biggest difference.
Speaking Hungarian would be a wonderful way to help her feel comfortable and connected, particularly as you’ll be able to share language and cultural experiences with her.
This is a simple but meaningful volunteer role for someone who enjoys older people and genuine conversation. You don’t need any special experience — just be friendly, patient, reliable and willing to spend a little time getting to know someone.
The commitment is just around an hour a week or fortnight through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS).
If you’re Hungarian-speaking and would enjoy making a new friend while bringing some extra connection and companionship into her week, we’d love to hear from you.
