We are looking for passionate volunteers to help with The Great Hall Book Fair, hosted in collaboration with the University of Sydney. The event is dedicated to raising much-needed funds for Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland and the life saving work of their volunteers. The Book Fair saves thousands of books from landfill, by giving donated books an opportunity to be rehomed.

Volunteers needed from Thursday 10th - Thursday 17th September.

Location: University of Sydney

Time: 9AM - 4:30PM

Available Roles

  • Setting up: assist with unloading books and arranging tables and display areas to create an inviting atmosphere for fellow book lovers.
  • Packing down: help dismantle tables and pack away unsold books and materials.
  • Merchandising: arrange books via genre, creating themed displays to highlight specific genres or authors. Monitor and restock book displays throughout the event. Ensured all books are priced and labelled correctly.
  • Customer service: greet attendees and provide information about the book fair. Assist customers in finding specific books or genres. Handle enquiries about Lifeline and the purpose of the book fair.
