Do you enjoy meeting new people, having a chat, watching movies, or helping others feel connected? Join the HACC PYP Social Connection Program and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people by supporting social connection, inclusion, and community participation.
As a volunteer, you'll help participants build meaningful social connections by facilitating and actively participating in a range of social connection programs. You may spend time with participants in small groups settings or one-on-one, enjoying a coffee, attending community activities, watching a movie, participating in Lunch & Learn sessions, or taking part in other activities that reflect their interests. Your companionship and encouragement will help participants build confidence, reduce social isolation, and feel more connected to their community.
We're especially seeking Arabic-speaking volunteers who also speak English to support our Lunch & Learn and Cinemagic programs. Your language skills will help Arabic-speaking participants feel welcome, comfortable, and included while encouraging stronger connections with the wider community.
Volunteers receive training, orientation, and ongoing support from the HACC PYP Volunteer Coordinator. Throughout your volunteer journey, you'll communicate regularly with the coordinator, provide feedback on participant activities, attend meetings and training when required, follow the City of Whittlesea's values, policies, and safety procedures, and record your volunteer hours.
If you're friendly, reliable, and passionate about creating meaningful community connections, we'd love to hear from you.
