Community Funding Champion

Bethania Community Centre

Community Funding Champion (Volunteer)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? Do you enjoy researching, writing, problem-solving, or learning new skills? Bethania Community Centre is looking for a Community Funding Champion to help us secure grants and funding that bring new programs, services, and opportunities to our local community.

This is an exciting volunteer role where your work can directly help fund activities for children, families, seniors, and vulnerable members of our community. Every successful grant application helps us create new programs, improve our facilities, and provide affordable or free services for those who need them most.

About Bethania Community Centre

Bethania Community Centre is a welcoming, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to strengthening our local community through programs, activities, support services, and community connections. We believe everyone deserves access to opportunities that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and bring people together.

Key duties

As our Community Funding Champion, you will:

  • Research government, corporate, philanthropic, and community grant opportunities.
  • Help prepare and write grant applications.
  • Work with staff and volunteers to gather information for funding submissions.
  • Assist in developing ideas for new community projects and programs.
  • Keep track of grant deadlines and funding opportunities.
  • Use AI tools such as ChatGPT and online research resources to support grant development.
  • Celebrate successful funding outcomes with the team as projects become reality.
  • Work with Logan City Council Grant Writers Team

  • Interested in writing or willing to learn.
  • Organised and able to pay attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate clearly in writing.
  • Passionate about helping their local community.
  • Open to learning new skills and using modern AI tools.

Experience with grants, administration, or writing is helpful but certainly not essential.

Benefits of volunteering

When you volunteer with Bethania Community Centre, you'll receive:

  • Full training and ongoing mentoring.
  • Practical experience in grant writing and funding research.
  • Experience using AI and modern research tools.
  • Opportunities to build professional skills and strengthen your resume.
  • A professional reference for future employment.
  • Flexible volunteer hours that fit around your lifestyle.
  • The chance to work with a supportive and friendly team.
  • The satisfaction of knowing your efforts create lasting benefits for the community.

The impact you'll make

Your contribution could help secure thousands of dollars in funding that directly supports local families, young people, seniors, and community members. Every successful application helps us expand services, deliver new programs, improve facilities, and create more opportunities for people in Bethania and surrounding areas.

This is an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy by helping great community ideas become reality.
