Bicycle repairer

bikes 4 life

Logo for bikes 4 life

Since 2019, bikes4life Sydney, has repaired and gifted more than 5,800 bikes to those in need, both here and overseas.

In Australia, our bikes have gone to indigenous groups, refugees, disability organisations and various children’s charities. Overseas our bikes have made their way to Asia, Pacific, Africa and Middle East. It is worth noting that many of the bikes gifted overseas, end up as the main family transport, and therefore become an invaluable asset.

Although we currently have more than 15 volunteers, we have more bikes than we can repair, so we would love to expand our Sydney workshop, so we can gift even more bikes to those in need.

Based at the Kimbriki Resource Centre we are looking for interested volunteers to join us on each Wednesday between 1pm -4pm, with a possibility of all day on first Sunday per month (see below)

One or two of our volunteers are in flexible full time work, and love the contrast of spending a week day afternoon using their hands rather than their minds. So - full time workers feel free to apply too!

Whilst experience in bike maintenance would be great, we are looking for people keen to get their hands dirty, and learn new skills.

So, come and check out our friendly crew of volunteers, turn unwanted bikes into valuable assets, and reduce land fill.

Free tea and biscuits!!
