About the role
Reporting to the Skin Cancer Prevention Programs Coordinator and Skin Cancer Prevention Programs Specialist, the position of Skin Cancer Prevention Programs Support Volunteer will support the Skin Cancer Prevention Unit's Education Stream and SunSmart Program.
This volunteer opportunity is based in Woolloomooloo, NSW, and requires a commitment of one day per week (Tuesdays) for approximately six months. Flexible arrangements may be available regarding the commencement and completion dates of the placement. With two consecutive onboarding days at the commencement of the selected candidate's volunteer placement.
Key tasks of the position
- Process new and renewal SunSmart applications.
- Manage resource requests and communications, including preparing and sending mail and resources.
- Perform accurate data entry and record management.
- Respond to enquiries received through the SunSmart inbox.
- Make and receive membership phone calls and respond to general enquiries.
- Complete general administrative tasks to support program operations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks.
- Undertake relevant training and compliance requirements.
- Support other Skin Cancer Prevention Unit initiatives and campaigns as required.
- Adhere to Cancer Council NSW policies, procedures and Work Health and Safety requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Experience using WordPress or a willingness to learn.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a friendly and professional phone manner.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and manage self-directed tasks.

Ability to follow instructions while also demonstrating initiative.

Commitment to Cancer Council NSW's mission and values.

Ability to safely lift and carry items up to 10kg when required.
