Volunteer Shop Coordinator

Volunteer Shop Coordinator — Op Shop
About us
Aus Living Support is a local Sunshine Coast charity supporting domestic violence survivors, vulnerable children and families in crisis, right across our community from Gympie to Caloundra. Our op shops are the engine room of everything we do — every dollar raised over the counter goes straight into our Stay Safe, School Aid and Material Aid programs, helping local families exactly when they need it most.
The role
We're looking for a warm, organised and reliable Shop Coordinator to help lead one of our op shops and get the best out of our wonderful volunteer team. You'll be the friendly face who keeps the day running smoothly and makes sure the shop looks its best and trades well.
Key duties
- Open and close the shop and act as key-holder for your shifts
- Welcome, guide and support our floor volunteers throughout the day
- Oversee the till/POS, cash handling, EFTPOS and daily reconciliation and banking
- Sort, price, merchandise and display donated stock
- Manage incoming donations and keep the shop tidy and well presented
- Deliver friendly, community-focused customer service
- Be the first point of contact for volunteers and customers on shift
Skills and experience
- A calm, approachable leader who enjoys bringing out the best in a team
- Reliable, with a regular weekly commitment
- Some retail, customer service, admin or team-leadership experience is a bonus, but a great attitude matters most
- Comfortable using a till/POS and handling cash
- Happy with light physical tasks such as standing, sorting and lifting donated stock
- A genuine heart for our local community
What you'll gain
- The satisfaction of knowing your time directly helps local families in crisis
- A friendly, supportive team and a real sense of purpose
- Training and ongoing support in the role
- Flexible weekly shifts to suit you, and new skills and experience for your résumé
The impact you'll make
Every hour you give keeps our shop trading, and every dollar it raises stays local — funding safety for domestic violence survivors, essentials for vulnerable children through School Aid, and practical help for families in crisis through Material Aid. As Coordinator, you'll directly enable our team of volunteers to do more, for more families, right here on the Sunshine Coast.
How to apply
Express your interest through this listing or contact our team at [email protected] or on 0427 831 086. We'll arrange a short induction and a couple of buddy shifts so you feel confident and supported from day one.
