++Purpose of the Role++
The Gardening Volunteers support the Community Food Centre by helping to maintain and improve our outdoor spaces and kitchen garden. This role involves tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and general maintenance as well as growing and harvesting fresh herbs and produce to support our community meals program.
- Mowing lawns and maintaining outdoor space
- Weeding garden beds and pathways
- Pruning shrubs, trees and other plants
- Spraying weeds with approved products and safe practices
- Establishing and maintaining the CFC’s kitchen garden
- Growing and harvesting fresh herbs and produce to support the community meals and cooking program
General garden maintenance, including keeping outdoor spaces clean, safe and welcoming.
