CALL FOR FILMMAKERS AND ACTORS: Help us make a film that protects kids

Aid Meridian

Logo for Aid Meridian

Aid Meridian is a registered Australian charity fighting human trafficking across South-East Asia. We are producing a short awareness film for entry into a film festival, and we are looking for creative volunteers to bring it to life.

The film will shine a light on human trafficking, one of the most urgent and least seen crimes. The goal is simple: make people stop, watch, and understand how it happens, so more people can recognize it and act before it does.

We are looking for:

  • Film directors and filmmakers
  • Videographers and camera operators
  • Film and media students (great portfolio and credit opportunity)
  • Editors, sound, lighting, and production crew
  • Actors of all backgrounds (all performers are adults, 18+)
  • Writers and storyboard artists

No professional credits required. If you have the skills, the gear, or just the drive, we want to hear from you.

What you should know:

  • This is a volunteer project for charity. You will be fully credited, and the finished film will be entered into a film festival, so it is a genuine showcase piece for your reel or portfolio.
  • The subject matter is confronting, and we will handle it responsibly: trauma-informed, tasteful, and produced under strict child-safety guidelines. No minors will be placed in exploitative scenes or situations at any point.
  • Filming details, dates, and locations will be worked out with the team we assemble.

About us: Aid Meridian Ltd is an ACNC-registered Australian charity and Public Benevolent Institution funding rescue operations, survivor support, and prevention education across South-East Asia.

Interested? Email [email protected] with your name, what role you are interested in, and a link to any previous work if you have it. First-timers welcome.
