The National Trust of Australia (Victoria) is seeking passionate individuals to join our dedicated team as a Retail Volunteers at Rippon Lea Estate. This is your chance to be part of a mission that celebrates, conserves, and promotes our rich cultural and natural heritage.

What You’ll Do: As a Front of House Volunteer, you will represent the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) while engaging with visitors.

Your role includes:
Customer Engagement: Welcome guests with enthusiasm, answer their questions, and share insights about our heritage and the significance of NTAV products and membership.

Encouraging Membership: Promote NTAV membership at the shop checkout, helping visitors understand how their support contributes to the conservation of our cultural treasures.

Inspiring Appreciation: Inspire the community to appreciate and celebrate our built and natural heritage through conversations and interactions.

Shop Management: Open and Close our small pop up shop and ticketing system at the beginning and end of the day, ensuring a welcoming and organised retail environment.

Your Impact: By volunteering in this role, you’ll play a vital part in helping the National Trust achieve its mission. Your interactions with visitors will foster a deeper appreciation for heritage conservation, encouraging community members to engage with and support our initiatives. Every conversation you have contributes to preserving the history and beauty of places like Rippon Lea Estate for future generations.

What We’re Looking For: Front of House and Ticket Booth experience desirable but not essential Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor to engage with visitors. Willingness to Learn: A desire to learn about the history of Rippon Lea Estate and the National Trust’s mission. Flexibility: A commitment to volunteer for a minimum of two day per month. Tech Savvy: Basic IT skills to manage rosters and other systems (desirable but not mandatory). Retail Experience: Previous retail or point-of-sale experience is a plus, but not required.
