Join us in bringing a 1930's Heritage garden back to life at Waller House.

You will support the maintenance and presentation of one of Victoria’s most significant heritage gardens. Your work helps preserve the garden’s historical value and ensures it remains a beautiful and welcoming space for all visitors.

Time Requirement :  Thursdays 10am -12 minimum twice a month

Reports to : NTAV Gardens Volunteer Leading Hand 

Volunteer Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend weekly working bees under the direction of the Leading Hand
  • Carry out seasonal garden maintenance tasks such as: Planting /Weeding / Pruning / Raking / General presentation
  • Work cooperatively with other volunteers to maintain high standards
  • Research heritage plantings
  • Support the ongoing development of the garden within available resources

Skills, Qualifications or Experience Required (or Desirable)

  • No experience necessary—training provided
  • A willingness to learn and enjoy routine gardening tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic physical fitness for outdoor tasks

Other Requirements of the Role

  • Completion of NTAV General Volunteer Induction
  • Site Induction by Property Manager or Leading Hand
  • Police Check

As part of the application process, we will ask you to agree to register as a National Trust Volunteer. Volunteers are required to have a current Working with Children’s Card (free for volunteers) and police check which you can apply for as part of the application process.
