Campbelltown City Council is seeking a friendly and reliable Community Bus Helper Volunteer to support our free door-to-door Community Bus service fortnightly on Friday mornings. The service provides local residents of all ages with transport to shopping centres, helping them remain independent and connected to their community.
Working alongside the Community Bus Driver, you will assist passengers throughout their journey by providing practical support and friendly customer service.
Volunteer Responsibilities • Greet passengers and assist them to safely board and exit the bus. • Help passengers find their seats and ensure they are comfortable during the journey. • Load and unload shopping bags in an organised manner. • Carry shopping bags to passengers' front doors when required. • Assist with lifting and securing mobility aids onto the bus when needed. • Provide respectful, friendly and professional support to all passengers.
This role requires good mobility and a moderate level of physical fitness, as volunteers will regularly navigate bus steps and assist with shopping bags and mobility aids. A DHS Working with Children Check is required, and Council can assist successful applicants with obtaining one. If you enjoy helping others and want to make a positive difference in your local community, this is a rewarding opportunity to become part of a supportive volunteer team.
