Join us for Together for MND – Damian's Journey and Fight with MND, a community fundraising event bringing people together to raise awareness and support for those impacted by Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND Queensland, together with Damian and Jane, are hosting this family-friendly event, featuring a car and bike show, entertainment, children's activities, food vendors, and much more. Funds raised will help MND Queensland continue providing vital care and support services to people living with MND and their families.

About the Role

As a Volunteer Car Parking Assistant, you will ensure the safe and orderly flow of vehicles by directing drivers to available parking spaces. You will provide a friendly welcome, guide visitors to entry points and help maintain a safe environment for attendees, all while supporting a meaningful cause.

When: Sunday, 27 September, 2026
Time: 10am - 3pm 
Where: Hervey Bay Sports Precinct, Nikenbah

Important: This is an outdoor event. Please wear comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes, bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle, and be prepared for periods of standing and walking.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting with set up/pack down
  • Welcoming and directing guests to parking spaces
  • Maintaining a safe environment for drivers and pedestrians
  • Providing directions and general event information to guests

You Won't Be

  • Directing traffic on public roads

  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to give concise and clear directions
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Comfortable interacting with a wide range of community members
  • Reliable and able to follow instructions
  • Willing to work as part of a team

Volunteers for this role must be at least 18 years of age.
Insurance coverage is provided up to age 75. Volunteers over 75 are welcome to participate but should be aware that insurance coverage is limited.
