We're looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help bring two exciting fundraising events to life for our school community!
We are fundraising during Book Week for Reading Out of Poverty, a charity that provides children aged 0-5 with the foundational literacy skills they need to flourish.
📚 Readathon - 22–23 August
Students will read over a set period and collect pledges and sponsorships to raise funds. We'll be running reading sessions in the library and courtyard, and need volunteers to:
- Host reading corners
- Read aloud to small groups
- Help track student progress
🧁 Bake Sale - 25 August
We'll be selling donated baked goods to raise funds and need volunteers to help with:
- Stall setup
- Managing donations
- Handling payments
- Pack-down
What we're looking for:
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable around high-school students
- Available for at least one 2–3 hour shift during the event week
- For the Bake Sale: able to follow basic food-handling and allergen-labelling guidelines
- For the Readathon: confident reading aloud or facilitating small-group reading activities
- A current Working with Children Check is preferred (or willingness to obtain one)
Whether you can spare a couple of hours for one event or want to get involved in both, your time will make a real difference to our students and our fundraising goals!
