Volunteer Visitor (German Speaking)

Can you brighten someone's day with conversation in their own language?
We are looking for a compassionate male volunteer who speaks German and English (Swiss German would be an advantage) to spend time with a gentleman receiving palliative care at Annie Bryson Lodge in Spencer Park.
For people facing serious illness, a friendly visit and the opportunity to speak in their native language can provide enormous comfort, connection and companionship.
About the Role
As a Volunteer Visitor, you will:
Spend time chatting and providing companionship in German and English. Offer social connection through friendly, one-on-one visits. Help reduce feelings of isolation and bring comfort during a difficult time. Build a meaningful connection simply by being present and listening.
About You -
We're looking for someone who:
Speaks German and English (Swiss German would be highly desirable). Is friendly, compassionate and a good listener. Respects privacy and confidentiality. Can commit to regular visits if possible.
