Are you an aspiring Event Manager, Arts Administrator, or Community Builder looking for a high-impact, portfolio-building leadership role?

Highbury Community Learning and Wellbeing Inc. is seeking 1–2 passionate Volunteer Event Managers to lead and execute our Children Mid-Autumn Festival Music Concert.

Our vision is to bring local families and neighbours together for a warm, delightful, and relaxing spring afternoon filled with beautiful music, celebrating cultural connection and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

What We Provide (Full Resources & Support):

Venue Secured: St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Canterbury (equipped with a grand piano, ideal for soloists, ensembles, and orchestras).

Funding & Material Coverage: Venue hire, equipment, printing, participation certificates, mooncakes, and light refreshments are fully covered.

100% Resource Backing: Whatever tools, templates, or extra support you need to run this event successfully, just let us know—we will do everything we can to provide them!

VIP Engagement: Opening remarks will be delivered by a local Member of Parliament (MP).

 

Unrivalled Hands-on Event Management Experience:

This is not an admin-only role—you will take true ownership of a live public event! You will gain end-to-end experience in:

  1. Performer Outreach & Talent Acquisition: Liaising with school music departments, private music teachers, and local talent to recruit ~15 young performers/groups.

  2. Event Marketing & Community Engagement: Managing promotional campaigns to attract community audience members.

  3. Stage & Production Management: (Optional) Designing the event run-sheet, coordinating backstage logistics, managing VIPs, and running the live show on event day.

What You’ll Gain:
