✨ RADIO LOLLIPOP 🍭 - Monash Children's Hospital ✨
Radio Lollipop is a volunteer-run international children’s charity providing care, comfort, play and entertainment to sick children in hospital. One of our key points of difference to many other charities is that we are entirely run by volunteers. Radio Lollipop engages the imagination of children to free them from the routine of the hospital environment by visiting them at their bedside with a range of craft activities, games and entertainment and inviting them to the studio and play area.
Radio Lollipop at the Monash Children’s Hospital is looking for new volunteers from a range of ages (must be 18+) and backgrounds, to join our team. Volunteers will be required to commit to one 3-hour shift per week, for a minimum of 12-months. We operate Tuesday - Thursday evenings, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, and Saturday and Sunday mornings, from 9am to 12pm (noon), and are currently searching for individuals across all of our shifts. We will also be re-opening our Monday evening shift in the next few months.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to run the radio show by announcing and producing, getting involved with play activities and creating arts and crafts. This is a privileged opportunity to help sick children smile and aid recovery by using laughter and play.
Our recruitment process begins with attendance at an information session held in-person in Clayton (exact dates TBC - typically one hour long).
