Help Build the Digital Platform Behind an Australian Cancer Charity
Golden Rose Cancer Collective is an ACNC-registered charity and Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) that connects people living with cancer and those in recent remission with qualified volunteer complementary therapy practitioners, at no cost to the patient.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Stack Web Developer or Technical Lead to join our volunteer team on a pro bono basis and help deliver the digital platform that sits at the heart of our charity.
This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise to create lasting social impact by helping Australians affected by cancer access free complementary therapies.
The Project
We have completed extensive planning and have a comprehensive Website Design & Development Brief ready for handover.
The project includes:
- Public-facing charity website
- Secure patient registration and portal
- Secure practitioner registration and portal
- Manual practitioner approval workflow
- Searchable practitioner directory
- Treatment claiming functionality
- Administrator dashboard
- Content Management System (CMS)
- Automated email workflows
- Reporting dashboard
- Mobile-responsive, accessible design
- Full documentation and handover.
We currently have:
- an existing WordPress website;
- a separately developed staging platform;
- approved website copy;
- branding and style guide;
- homepage wireframes;
- UX recommendations; and
- comprehensive project documentation ready for handover.
The Opportunity
One of your first tasks will be to review the existing assets and recommend the best technical approach.
This may involve:
- developing a completely new website;
- extending our existing WordPress website by adding the required membership portal functionality; or
- repairing and completing the existing staging platform if that proves to be the most secure, maintainable and cost-effective solution.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and wants to use their skills to make a genuine difference.

Your Role
You will work alongside our volunteer team to:
- review the existing website, staging platform and project assets;
- recommend the most appropriate technical solution;
- build or extend the chosen platform;
- implement secure patient and practitioner portals;
- develop an intuitive administration dashboard;
- ensure the platform is secure, maintainable and scalable; and
- support deployment and project handover.
