Volunteer Finance Advisor – Charity Strategy and Compliance (Remote, Flexible)

Are you an accountant who would like to use your skills to make a real difference for disadvantaged young people in regional Australia? Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc is looking for a volunteer finance advisor to guide our financial strategy and compliance. This role is remote and flexible, requiring around 5 hours per week.
About Us
Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation bringing communities together through multicultural markets, festivals, and events across Victoria. Every dollar raised supports Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs, and skills development. When you volunteer with us, you are directly supporting that mission.
About the Role
You will be a trusted finance advisor to our management committee. You will help us strengthen our financial reporting, plan budgets and forecasts, and meet our obligations as an ACNC-registered PBI and DGR charity.
Because this role follows annual reporting and audit cycles, we are looking for someone who can commit for at least 12 months, so there is consistency from one cycle to the next.

- Help us meet our PBI, DGR, and ACNC compliance obligations
- Develop and monitor budgets and short- to long-term forecasts
- Advise the committee on financial strategy, planning, and risk
- Present funding and investment recommendations to the committee
- Support grant applications with financial data and forecasts
- Work with our finance team so day-to-day figures align with the budget
- Review annual financial reports
About You

- Qualified accountant (CPA, CA, or equivalent)
- Experience in financial strategy, forecasting, and budgeting

Desirable
- Experience with PBI and DGR registered charities
- Board or committee advisory experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Experience supporting grant applications
- Familiarity with Xero or similar systems
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis
Why Volunteer With Us
- Use your expertise to make a meaningful difference for disadvantaged regional youth
