About Chozen Foundation

Chozen Foundation is a Melbourne-based charity on a mission to break the cycle of poverty in Zimbabwe. Our programs support teenage mothers through rehabilitation, education and skills training — helping them return to school, become self-sufficient, and build safe futures for themselves and their babies. We're working toward building a safe house that will be home to 15–20 girls every year, supporting over 100 mothers and babies over five years.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced grant writer to help Chozen Foundation identify, apply for, and win funding from grant-making bodies, foundations, and corporate giving programs. This is a great opportunity to use your skills to directly support a growing, high-impact organisation empowering women and girls in Zimbabwe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Chozen's mission (women's empowerment, international development, community development)
  • Write, edit and submit compelling grant applications and funding proposals
  • Track application deadlines, requirements and outcomes
  • Work closely with the Chozen team to gather program data, impact stories and supporting materials
  • Maintain relationships with funders and manage reporting/acquittal requirements where needed

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience writing successful grant applications (not-for-profit sector experience preferred)
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate program impact into a compelling funding case
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and remotely
  • A genuine interest in women's empowerment, community development, and/or international development

Details

  • Location: Remote / Work from Home
  • Commitment: Flexible, part-time / project-based
  • Compensation: This is a voluntary (unpaid) position
