CatholicCare Sydney is looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to spend time with an older gentleman living in a Residential Aged Care home in the Glenhaven area. 🏡

Our resident is a keen movie enthusiast 🎬🍿 who would love the opportunity to enjoy an occasional trip to the local cinema with a companion. Whether it’s the latest blockbuster or a classic favourite, your company will mean far more than the movie itself. ❤️

During other visits, you might enjoy a coffee together ☕, chat about films and life 🎥💬, or simply spend time sharing stories and conversation. 😊

💛 Why Volunteer?

Just one to two hours a week can make a lasting difference to someone experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Through regular visits, our volunteers build meaningful friendships that enrich the lives of both the volunteer and the older person. 🤝✨

🎬 As a Companion Volunteer, You'll:

• 👫 Provide friendship and companionship.
• 💕 Help reduce loneliness and social isolation.
• 🍿 Share enjoyable outings and meaningful conversations.
• 🌟 Make a positive difference in someone's wellbeing.
• 🤗 Become part of a caring and supportive volunteer community.

🌷 We're Looking For Someone Who Is:

• 😊 Friendly, patient and reliable.
• 👂 A good listener who enjoys spending time with older people.
• 🎬 Happy to accompany the resident on occasional trips to the local cinema.
• 🚗 Able to provide transport to and from the movie theatre when required.
• 📍 Located in or near Glenhaven or Dural, with reliable transport.
• ⏰ Able to commit to 1–2 hours each week on an ongoing basis.

No previous experience is necessary. CatholicCare Sydney provides training, ongoing support and all required screening before you begin volunteering. 🎓💙
