CatholicCare Sydney is seeking caring volunteers to provide companionship to older people living in a Residential Aged Care Home in Baulkham Hills. 🏡👵👴
Many residents would love the opportunity to chat in their first language, reminisce about life, enjoy a cup of coffee ☕, play a game 🎲, read together 📖 or take a gentle walk around the facility 🚶♀️. Your regular visits can make a real difference to someone's wellbeing and quality of life. 💕✨
We're especially looking for volunteers who speak Filipino, as many residents come from this cultural background. However, everyone is encouraged to apply, regardless of the language you speak. 🌏💬
💛 Why Volunteer?
Just one to two hours a week can make a lasting difference to someone experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Through regular visits, our volunteers build meaningful friendships that enrich the lives of both the volunteer and the older person. 🤗🌟
🌷 We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- 😊 Friendly, patient and reliable
- 👂 A good listener who enjoys spending time with older people
- 📍 Located in the Baulkham Hills area or surrounds, with reliable transport
- ⏰ Able to commit to 1–2 hours each week on an ongoing basis
No previous experience is necessary. CatholicCare Sydney provides training, ongoing support and all required screening before you begin volunteering. 🎓💙
