Aged Care Visitor in Fremantle area - must be an LGBTIQ+ peer

GRAI is seeking a volunteer visitor for an older man in residential aged care. Our service recipient loves travel, theatre and classical music (especially piano).

Male-identifying volunteer preferred.

The Volunteer visitor aims to improve quality of life for the service recipient by: • promoting wellbeing and maintaining independence • a sense of connectedness to community, culture and identity • reduced feelings of loneliness and isolation; and • reduced feelings of depression and anxiety.

The time together may be spent together in a variety of ways, dependent on the care recipients’ interest and capacity.

The volunteer needs to bring their friendly, caring and compassionate self, a willingness to listen and an interest in connecting with an older LGBTI person.
