Digital Engagement & Communications Volunteer
About Homelessness Queensland Homelessness Queensland is the peak body for Specialist Homelessness Services in Queensland. We work with services, government, lived experience advocates, and communities to strengthen practice, influence policy, and shift the system toward prevention and early intervention.
About the role We are seeking a Media & Digital Communications Volunteer to support our website, newsletters, and media content. This role helps translate complex sector and policy work into clear, engaging communications for members, partners, and the broader community.
Key duties:
- Assist with newsletters and email communications
- Support media releases, announcements, and opinion pieces as required
- Help ensure consistent tone and messaging across platforms Skills and experience
- Experience or interest in communications, media, or digital content
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Confidence using digital tools and platforms
- Reliable, organised, and able to meet agreed timeframes
- Interest in social justice or community services is highly valued
- WordPress or email platform experience is desirable but not essential Time commitment
- Approximately 4 hours per week, flexible and mostly remote, plus a one-off online induction. Benefits
