LGBTQIA+ Playgroup volunteer - Logan
Rainbow Families Queensland (RFQ) and Play Matters Australia is looking for a new Volunteer Facilitator to help start a playgroup on Tuesday or Friday mornings in Logan. The playgroup can be held weekly, fortnightly, monthly or once per term.
There is a free venue, which has a wonderful outdoor play space and indoor playroom. You will work with the venue's playgroup facilitators and the playgroup families to create a welcoming, fun and safe environment.
Regular tasks for volunteer facilitators include:
- welcoming families
- organising play experiences for the weekly sessions (if you wish, e.g. song and story time, simple art activity).
- liaising between playgroup families, RFQ and Play Matters Australia
- ensuring the playgroup environment and culture is safe, fun and inclusive.
Play Matters Australia provides the following volunteer support:
- Assistance to complete a Working with Children Check
- Mentoring and guidance from Play Matters staff
- Access to a digital portal with online training and resources
- Career development opportunities
- Statements of Service
You will also receive support from the RFQ Project Officer, and we will connect you with volunteers facilitating Rainbow Families Playgroups in other locations throughout south-east Queensland.
