Volunteer Prospect Researcher

RACS is seeking a skilled and curious Prospect Researcher to help strengthen our philanthropy program and identify new opportunities to support our work with refugees and people seeking asylum.
This is an opportunity to use your research, analytical and relationship-mapping skills for a cause that makes a real difference. Your work will help us identify individuals, foundations, trusts and other philanthropic prospects who may share our commitment to justice, dignity and human rights.
About the role
Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, you will:
- Research and identify prospective major donors, philanthropists, trusts and foundations
- Undertake detailed prospect research, including philanthropic interests, giving history, capacity and connections
- Identify potential links and introductions through RACS' existing networks, including our Board, supporters, professional partners and community
- Help assess and prioritise prospects based on their capacity, interests, connection to RACS and potential for engagement
- Provide research and insights to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies
About you
You will be a skilled researcher with excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in philanthropy and social justice. You may come from a fundraising, research, business intelligence, development, journalism, library/information services or similar background.
You will bring:
- Strong research and analytical skills
- An ability to find, interpret and synthesise information from a range of sources
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgement
- An ability to identify connections and opportunities that others may overlook
- Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality
- An interest in philanthropy, refugee rights and social justice.
