About Us

Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital provides professional veterinary care to sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife, free of charge.

Our dedicated veterinary team works year-round to treat and rehabilitate wildlife in need, while our volunteers play an essential role in supporting our work and helping us build a community that cares about wildlife.

About the Role

As a Market & Community Events Volunteer, you’ll represent Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital at local markets, community events and other activities.

You’ll help create a welcoming and engaging presence, talk with members of the public about our work and provide practical support to make each event a success.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on the market or event, your tasks may include:

• Helping set up and pack down our market stall or event space
• Welcoming and engaging with members of the community
• Sharing information about Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and our work
• Helping people learn more about wildlife conservation and ways they can support us
• Assisting with merchandise, fundraising or promotional activities
• Keeping our stall or event area organised and welcoming
• Supporting staff and fellow volunteers throughout the event

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you are:

• Friendly, enthusiastic and approachable
• Passionate about wildlife and environmental conservation
• Confident talking with people from all walks of life
• Reliable and punctual
• A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Willing to help with a variety of tasks and adapt as needed
• Comfortable assisting with some physical tasks involved in setting up and packing down

No previous experience is necessary — just bring a positive attitude, a willingness to help and your enthusiasm for wildlife.
