Role Purpose

As an Event Day Volunteer with Oot and Aboot Outdoors, you will play a vital role in bringing our Connect Outdoors: Frankston experience to life — a free, inclusive outdoor community event designed for LGBTQIA+ adults in Frankston who may never have camped before or who have never felt outdoor spaces were for them.

On the day you will help transform a section of the Frankston Foreshore into a welcoming camp-style environment, warmly welcome participants as they arrive, and ensure everyone feels safe, included and at ease throughout the event.

Your presence and energy directly contributes to creating a space where LGBTQIA+ people can connect with nature, meet their community, and build the confidence to say yes to their first camping experience with the assistance of group games and beginner camp skill sessions.

No prior event experience is required — just a warm, welcoming attitude and a genuine commitment to inclusion. Full briefing and support will be provided before the event day.

This is a one-off volunteer opportunity that makes a real difference to people in your local community.
