Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that brings communities together through family focused fundraisers, markets  and events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs, and skills development. ROLE PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to create compelling captions and engaging storytelling that bring Lifestyle Markets Australia’s events, volunteers, and community impact to life. The Volunteer Content Writer will develop creative content ideas, support content planning, and craft meaningful stories that strengthen our online presence and connect with audiences across our digital platforms. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan & write engaging content for social media posts, newsletters, website updates, and promotional materials.

• Develop stories highlighting volunteers, community partnerships, multicultural events, and social impact initiatives.

• Create engaging captions and written content to support marketing campaigns.

• Assist with event promotions, announcements, and community updates.

• Maintain a consistent tone and positive brand voice across communications.

• Work collaboratively with the Digital Marketing and Graphic Design team members to align messages with visuals.

• Monitor engagement and suggest ways to grow reach and interaction.

• Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practice.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to create compelling and engaging content.

• Experience creating content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc).

• Understanding of social media trends and storytelling techniques to connect with diverse audiences.

• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.

• Experience managing content calendars and meeting agreed timelines.

• Comfortable working collaboratively within a remote volunteer team.

• Proficiency in Gmail and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

Desirable

• Qualification or experience in Digital Marketing, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

• Experience creating content for social media campaigns, newsletters, websites, or digital platforms.

• Familiarity with email marketing or campaign management tools

• Knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, algorithms, and content strategy.
