Do you enjoy driving and spending time with people? Help our Chinese-speaking community members stay connected and enjoy regular social outings.
CCA NSW is seeking a friendly and reliable volunteer driver to assist with our Tuesday Outing / Chinese Outing program.
The role involves transporting clients safely to and from community outings and supporting them to enjoy social activities in a welcoming and friendly environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with older people and would like to contribute to the wellbeing and social connection of members of the Chinese-speaking community.
Key duties
- Safely transport clients to and from scheduled outings.
- Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle where required.
- Provide friendly and respectful support to clients throughout the outing.
- Follow agreed transport routes, schedules and procedures.
- Assist with general coordination of the outing where required.
- Provide companionship and social interaction.
- Communicate any client wellbeing or safety concerns to CCA NSW staff.
- Work cooperatively with staff and other volunteers.
- Maintain a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for all participants.
Skills and experience
The ideal volunteer will:
- Hold a current unrestricted/full C Class Australian driver's licence.
- Be a safe and confident driver.
- Be reliable, patient and approachable.
- Enjoy interacting with older people.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be respectful of different cultural backgrounds.
- Be comfortable assisting clients with varying mobility needs.
Previous experience in community transport, aged care or working with older people is desirable but not required.

Application requirements
A full/unrestricted C Class driver's licence is required.
Volunteers will be required to complete CCA NSW's volunteer onboarding process, including relevant checks, induction and training as applicable.
