Help bring people together over good food, conversation and friendship!

CCA NSW is looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer driver to support our**** Friday Lunch Group.

The Friday Lunch Group provides an opportunity for members of our community to get together, enjoy a meal and spend time socialising with others. As a volunteer driver, you will play an important role in helping participants safely travel to and from the lunch activity.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys driving, meeting people and helping others enjoy meaningful social experiences.

Key duties

  • Safely transport participants to and from the Friday Lunch Group.
  • Assist clients with getting into and out of the vehicle where appropriate.
  • Ensure passengers are comfortable and safely transported.
  • Follow agreed routes and transport procedures.
  • Provide friendly conversation and companionship.
  • Assist with general group activities where appropriate.
  • Support a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Communicate any safety or wellbeing concerns to CCA NSW staff.
  • Work collaboratively with CCA NSW staff and other volunteers.

Skills and experience

We are looking for a volunteer who:

  • Holds a**** current unrestricted/full C Class Australian driver's licence.
  • Is a confident and responsible driver.
  • Is friendly, patient and reliable.
  • Enjoys interacting with older people and community members.
  • Has good communication skills.
  • Is respectful, compassionate and willing to assist others.
  • Is comfortable supporting people with different mobility needs.

Previous experience working with older people, community groups or community transport is desirable but not essential.

Application requirements

A full/unrestricted C Class driver's licence is required.

Volunteers will be required to complete CCA NSW's volunteer onboarding process, including relevant checks, induction and training as applicable.
