Sea Shepherd Community Clean Coordinator-Brisbane QLD

Passionate about our beaches and ready to lead the charge against marine debris? We need YOU as our Brisbane Community Clean Coordinator! 🌊🎉
This is your chance to be the driving force behind our local beach clean-ups — rallying volunteers, building community connections, and turning "let's tidy the beach" into an event people can't wait to join. You'll be hands-on, outdoors, and making a genuine difference to our coastline.
Key duties:
- Work with the Chapter Coordinator to lock in the monthly clean-up date
- Apply for the council permit for the event
- Recruit and organise volunteers for the day
- Make sure debris collected is sorted and counted
- Show volunteers the ropes if they're new to beach clean-ups
- Share photos and data afterwards to the National Manager so your event gets a shoutout nationally
- Report volunteer hours to the Chapter Coordinator
What you'll bring:
- No experience necessary — just reliability, good communication, and a positive attitude
- Comfortable coordinating people and keeping things on track
- A motivator who gets people excited to turn up
Who we are:
We're a passionate community group on a mission to keep Brisbane's beaches and waterways free of marine debris, one clean-up at a time. Every event, every volunteer hour, and every photo feeds into a bigger national movement for cleaner coastlines.
Why volunteer with us:
-
Real leadership and coordination experience for your resume
-
Your local efforts get shared and celebrated on a national stage
-
Build relationships with local council, businesses, and your community
-
A certificate of participation/leadership
The impact you'll make:
Every clean-up you coordinate means less debris in our oceans and healthier marine life. Your reports can influence council action, and your outreach can shift how local businesses think about waste. You're not just picking up rubbish — you're leading a movement.
