Be Part of Something New!
Love a great thrift find? Come and help us launch our brand-new Vinnies outlet!
Be part of the team from day one and help create a fun, welcoming destination packed with pre-loved treasures and great bargains. You’ll sort and price donations, create eye-catching displays, help customers discover their next great find and bring the shop to life.
Meet new people, have fun, discover hidden gems and make a difference in your community — all while helping give pre-loved items a second chance!
Vinnies shops
Vinnies shops are more than op shops — they’re local spots for great finds, sustainable style and community connection. Every sale helps fund Vinnies services that support people doing it tough, and our shops can also be a first point of contact for people looking for help.
As a Retail Volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.
The Volunteer Role
You’ll get involved in a mix of fun, hands-on retail tasks, including:
- Welcoming customers and helping them have a great op shopping experience;
- Sorting and pricing donated fashion, homewares and unique finds;
- Creating fresh displays that help great items stand out;
- Learning the till and helping process sales through the POS system; and
- Keeping the shop and sorting area looking clean, organised and safe.
This role is a great fit if you:
- Enjoy meeting people and bringing a positive, friendly energy;
- Want to support the values and community spirit of Vinnies;
- Are respectful, open-minded and happy to be part of a team; and
- Are keen to learn, use initiative and get stuck in.
No experience? No worries — in-store coaching and training are provided. If you have retail, hospitality, fashion or customer service experience, we’d love you to bring your skills and share them with the team.
Why join Vinnies as a volunteer
