Male Volunteer Visitor – Friendship & Conversation in Bundoora

Could you spare some time each week or fortnight to share a friendly conversation and make a meaningful difference in someone’s life?
MiCare is looking for a male volunteer to provide regular social visits and companionship to an older gentleman living in Bundoora, VIC.
He would enjoy having someone visit regularly for a chat, a cup of coffee or tea, and some friendly company.
We are looking for someone who is friendly, respectful, reliable, and genuinely interested in getting to know another person.
Sometimes, something as simple as a regular conversation and a familiar face can make a real difference. Through your visits, you can help reduce social isolation, support social connection, and bring more companionship and enjoyment into his everyday life.
Volunteering is also an opportunity to meet someone new, hear about their life experiences and stories, and gradually build a genuine friendship.
About the commitment
We are looking for someone who can visit weekly or fortnightly and ideally commit to volunteering for at least six months.
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, and we hope to support you in building a meaningful and lasting connection with the person you visit.
As a MiCare volunteer, you will receive:
- Full training and induction
- Ongoing support from the MiCare team
- Reimbursement for eligible travel expenses
- Opportunities to attend volunteer catch-ups and events
If you enjoy a good conversation and would like to brighten someone’s day through friendship and companionship, we would love to hear from you.
