Ken needs someone in his corner - Brighten his week with a chat.

Logo for Wesley Mission

Wesley Aged Care Volunteer Visitors connects volunteers with older people who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation.

Ken* is in his late 70s and lives independently in Toronto. He doesn't have regular visitors and would value having someone to check in, share a conversation and spend some time together.

Sometimes it's the simple things that matter most. A cup of coffee, a drive out of town, a chat about life or knowing that someone will stop by and see how you're going.

Ken would enjoy getting out into the community, visiting a local café or simply spending time with someone who is happy to listen and share a yarn. He's not looking for anything complicated, just genuine companionship and a friendly face he can get to know over time.

A male volunteer who enjoys conversation, being part of their local community and looking out for others would be a great match. No special skills are required, just kindness, reliability and a willingness to spend time together.

Sometimes all a bloke needs is another bloke to have a chat with.

We're looking for a volunteer who can commit to regular visits and build a genuine friendship over time.

As a Wesley volunteer, you'll receive:

  • Ongoing support from your Wesley Volunteer Coordinator
  • A carefully considered match with an older person
  • Training and guidance to help you get started
  • Invitations to volunteer recognition and celebration events

If you can spare an hour a week, or an hour a fortnight, we'd love to hear from you.

A coffee, a conversation and a regular check-in could become the highlight of Ken's week.
